Can I run the installer in isolation?

I want to uplug the ethernet cable that I needed on this server box to pull
the packages. Can I run foreman-installer (for the first time) with
success? I'm not using any of the non-default configuration options.

Thanks in advance

You'll obviously need to mirror our repositories, and have access to OS
packages.

If you're using Ubuntu 12.04, you'll need to mirror the Brightbox Ruby
PPA too (and probably set --foreman-configure-brightbox-repo=false), if
on EL6 or EL7 you'll need a mirror of EPEL and either the
softwarecollections.org or CentOS SCLo repos, then disable
configure-epel-repo, configure-scl-repo. You may also want to mirror
Puppet Labs' repo, depending on if you're using it and your OS.

Dominic Cleal

Where I am, we are creating a customized ISO image based on CentOS 6.7,
with custom Kicktstarts which install all the dependencies needed for a
Katello Master or a capsule (the kickstarts are by role). After the
kickstart reboot, we run the katello installer to set it up, and then run
some custom scripting to set up a reference environment via hammer
commands. Our ISO and automation was designed for isolated environments,
where an Internet install is not a possibility.

So, yes, the installer will work if you pre-install everything needed, or
provide a local copy of the repos as indicated by Dominic Cleal.

Hope that helps!
