Clarification of a couple 1.5 release questions

  1. Does Foreman 1.5 support dynamic environments? There seems to be
some recent changes in puppet that foreman recently adapted to. (We
want to use r10k.) If it's a dev branch fix, when will the next
incremental release be that supports this?

  2. What versions of puppet are supported? 1.5 release notes say
"Puppet 3.x is supported and may be installed from the Puppet Labs
repositories." However, I do recall seeing that 3.5/3.6 may not be
supported? (May have already been fixed prior to 1.5 release?)

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,

To answer your question unofficially.

  1. The environment changes included as of 3.6 are not YET supported, to
"quote" Dominic from IRC this is a work in progress currently.
  2. Directlly related to the previous , I use up to 3,5,1 without issues in
a production environment but Had to pin it there and do a roll back out of
the puppet 3.6 branch due to the environment support changes within puppet.
BUT this is so far the only issue I have found.

Hope this helps ?

Puppet 3.6 is supported, as long as you don't use dynamic environments.

We are using latest puppet with latest foreman with no problems.
