Compute Resources support for Openstack Identity API v3

Hi, apologize if this has been discussed before but was wondering if there
were any future plans to support this:

http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/12054

Our cloud team is now only supporting v3 and is requiring supplying a
domain to authenticate which breaks the ability for me to continue managing
instances from Foreman. I'm running Foreman 1.13-RC2 and this functionality
doesn't appear to be there yet.

Hi,

It's not assigned to anyone, which makes it highly unlikely (but not
impossible) that anyone is working on it right now. Patches are, of course,
entirely welcome - if you want to go down that road and need help as a new
contributor, let me know

Hey,
In case your are still interested, I've proposed a patch (#4254
<https://github.com/theforeman/foreman/pull/4254>) and created a plugin here
<https://github.com/achevalet/foreman_openstack_v3>, waiting for gurus
feedback

Hi Anthony,

I've tried to install your plugin, but it does not seem to work. No errors
during installation, but foreman does not show any change in its behavior.
Any hint?

Thanks
Monica

Hi Monica,

Which version of Foreman are you using? Did you restart it after
installation?

Hi Anthony,

thanks for your reply! I'm using Foreman 1.5 (last stable) and sure I've
restarted it, without any luck.

In your README.md file I read: "It simply adds a 'Domain' field in the
compute resource creation form", but I can't see this new field.

Result is, behaviour not changed (always "Bad request" as response from
openstack).

I'm using last RDO version installed by Packstack (it's a PoC so far).

Thank you again
Monica

Hi,

don't mind, I've triple checked any installation step and found my issue,
so now I can see "domain" field in the form and load my tenants.

My problem right now is that I get 404 in creating compute resource…

Any help appreciated, as usual

Hi,

I could help but please describe precisely what the problem is.
At which point do you get 404?
