I've tried to integrate some ESXi hosts into foreman. Unfortunately this
wasn't really successful. Most ESXi servers could be tested but using them
gives an error message like this:
There was an error listing VMs: No route matches {:action=>"show",
:controller=>"compute_resources_vms",
:compute_resource_id=>#<Foreman::Model::Vmware id: 3, name:
"vmware14.example.local", description: "VMware ESXi server", url:
"vmware14.example.local", user: "root", password: "s3cret", uuid:
"ha-datacenter", type: "Foreman::Model::Vmware", created_at: "2013-07-15
08:04:21", updated_at: "2013-07-15 08:32:22", attrs:
{:pubkey_hash=>"657ba813113d122ec04b9362f2f5e351e54d89aae7f6f5e6ea29b91c29bed5fe"}>,
:id=>""}
I tried to troubleshoot the problem but didn't find any logs helpful to
investigate the problem. My foreman platform is Scientific 6.4 with foreman
1.2.1 on top from the standard yum repository. Any ideas?
can you be more specific what you mean by "could be tested" and "using
them"?
We have a foreman-debug command that collects all the logs and creates a
tarball which can be uploaded for investigation. It filters out
passwords/tokens. You can use it if you want.

that sounds good, is there a documentation how to use the debug tool?
With testing I mean, when I create a compute resource and I enter server,
user, password, etc. pp., there is a button "test connection" which reply
the (I guess default) datacenter. This test is working and I got a
datacenter replied. The error itself occur when I enter the compute
resource overview page, select a compute resource and switch to the virtual
machine tab.
Could it be that this is related to the versions of ESXi and (correct me if
I'm wrong) the underlying fog library?

Okay, which version of VMWare do you use?
This is Foreman 1.2.1 right?
