We dont have force remove option, would you mind adding a new feature
request?

I can see two options here:

  1. decouple a host from its compute resource (e.g. moving to a bare metal
    style).
  2. force remove a compute resource, and converting all of its vms to bare
    metal (as in 1).

Hello,
If this made it in as a feature request, where might I see the progress
thereof? I am in need of the decoupling feature Ohad mentioned.

The "disassociation" feature was implemented for Foreman 1.5 via
Feature #3909: compute resources prevent or disassciate host from VM prevent vm deletion - Foreman.

I don't recall a feature request for (2), so please feel free to create
one in Redmine.

    Hey Folks,

Had built a working foreman host with unattended installation. I
had exported this vm to an OVA.

After deploying this OVA I noticed that the ability to force
remove of a compute resource and hosts is not there.

Is there a supported method for force removal of a host and a
compute resource so my install looks clean after VM migrate?

Dominic,
Thanks for the info, I look forward to the 1.5 release.
