Foreman-installer failures

Expected outcome:

Foreman and Proxy versions:

Foreman and Proxy plugin versions:

Other relevant data:

[e.g. logs from Foreman and/or the Proxy, modified templates, commands issued, etc]

It looks like an empty template. Could you fill it in?

Could not set home on user[foreman]: Execution of ‘/sbin/usermod -d /usr/share/foreman foreman’ returned 6: usermod: user ‘foreman’ does not exist in /etc/passwd
/opt/puppetlabs/puppet/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/puppet/util/execution.rb:285:in `execute’

there is already a user called foreman-proxy in /etc/passwd. Which prohibits creating user foreman…

Any idea how to proceed?

what are you trying to run exactly there? “foreman-installer” to deploy foreman or to deploy foreman-smart-proxy?
Or are you just trying to set a user called foreman?

In your case that means someone either created that user or foreman already been installed there.

I am all set. It was clashing with existing user. Thanks.
