Foreman/Katello not displaying installable errata or packages in Content Hosts view

We currently have an issue with our Katello/Foreman web UI not displaying
how many available errata and packages there are to install on our hosts.

When looking at the Hosts > Content Hosts view under the Installable
Updates column the numbers are all zero and the images are displayed black
instead of blue. There are definitely updates available, and they are
receiving the packages and errata fine when updating, it is only the web UI
display that shows nothing.

I am pretty new to all this but have been tasked with resolving the issue.
If the only solution is to update to the latest release then we will have
to eventually go with that, but if there is a solution that can used before
getting to that stage, that would be greatly helpful.

Katello-agent/goferd is running on all the hosts.

This honestly sounds familiar and like a bug that was fixed in one of the
3.4.z releases. I would recommend updating to 3.4.5.

I am pretty new to all this but have been tasked with resolving the issue.
If the only solution is to update to the latest release then we will have
to eventually go with that, but if there is a solution that can used before
getting to that stage, that would be greatly helpful.

Katello-agent/goferd is running on all the hosts.

Any other info needed please let me know.

I had reasonable success using this one-liner fix from the pulp team when I
was stuck on 3.4.0.

https://github.com/pulp/pulp/pull/3047/

I had to force recalc errata applicability for some hosts to get them to
show applicable packages after applying this fix, but once that was done,
this kept the applicable packages view working until I could upgrade to
3.4.3+ (where this simply works).

I would definitely update to the latest as soon as you can - there are tons
of bugs fixed in current release including this.

Thanks Eric and Tony.

Will take a look at the pulp change and see if that fixes things for now,
but we will definitely be taking a look at upgrading Katello sooner than
later I think, before any other bugs pop up…
