Foreman project in Redmine

Hi,

Would it be possible to give developers rights to delete and edit issues
in Redmine? Or at least some subset of developers in timezones other
than EMEA?

If there's a situation where it needs to be done in US hours, such as
confidential info accidentally ending up in a ticket, we have to wait
until Ohad or Dominic is available.

I'd prefer not to add the delete permission to the developer role in
case people do it accidentally or without good reason… and there are a
lot of people with the role.

I think I removed it from the role a long time ago as tickets were being
deleted for trivial reasons, leaving us with a patchy history. Perhaps
the delete button was easier to find than the edit button.

All project managers and moderators still have this permission though,
and most plugins should have their maintainer(s) set as a manager
already. Foreman itself has a number of people with these permissions,
and I've now added you to the moderators role too. Probably the best
way to contact someone is simply to comment on the ticket.

All developers have permission to edit ticket metadata, including the
description - click Edit, then the Description pencil icon in the middle
of the form.

Cheers,

Ok, thanks for that, I saw there's a bunch but the only full-time devs
were in EMEA. It might be better to give two people the permission on US
hours, maybe Eric, in case I'm not around.

Maybe it's not a big enough problem to really be worried about, but I'm
not the first person to have entered info into a ticket that shouldn't
have been public, and I won't be the last. Not letting a user delete a
ticket like that seems heavy handed.

Oh thanks, wasn't immediately obvious.
