Foreman upgrade from 1.6 to 1.7 - Can't see Provisioning Templates

Hi,

Recently I upgraded my Foreman from 1.6 to 1.7 all works great except the
fact that when trying to access to "Provisioning Templates" and choosing
one of the templates I get error(attached).

Any reason why?!

This is bug Bug #9687: Provisioning Template Roles: view_template, edit_template doesn't render on 1.7.3 for non-admin - Foreman, which is fixed in Foreman
1.8.1, due out shortly.

Is it recommended to upgrade from 1.6 to 1.8(skip 1.7)?

Nope, only upgrades between two following major versions are supported.
i.e.
1.6 -> 1.7
1.7 -> 1.8

You can upgrade from 1.7 to 1.8.1 directly though.

This is bug http://theforeman.org/issues/9687
