Problem: The link in the Foreman UI points to the current version (3.15) upgrade documentation instead to the next-in-line (for example 3.16).
Expected outcome: Foreman upgrade link points to the next-in-line version.
Foreman and Proxy versions: Foreman 3.15 (Katello.4.17)
Foreman and Proxy plugin versions: N/A

Is the mentioned behavior of the upgrade link intentional? Am I missing something here…
The way it is now confused me a few times. I thought I still need to upgrade to the latest supported version or the upgrade failed in some way.
Thank you in advance.
This was implemented in #38328 but I agree this isn’t done well now. @aruzicka has suggested to implement a link like https://docs.theforeman.org/$version/upgrade-to-next/$build where $version is your current Foreman version and $build is the foreman-el, foreman-deb or katello (depending on what you have installed). That docs.theforeman.org link should then redirect to the next version. If you are on the latest (stable) version then it should also tell you that.
The reason to implement that more on the documentation side is that it’s easier to update centrally.
However, that hasn’t been implemented. I’ve also been tempted to drop the whole functionality again in upstream.
It’d help a lot if more users weighed in what their preference is on this new functionality.
Thanks for your reply!
I think it should be helpful to have this link pointing to a more generic page with relevant upgrade guidelines (for example to follow proper upgrade path to the desired version - one minor version at a time). It could also contain instructions on how to find out your current version (useful for beginners), and how to access the proper documentation tree related to upgrades for a specific build. Something along those lines.
As it is it can be a bit confusing, and it looks a bit half-baked, to be honest.
However, I appreciate the effort! I actually welcome this addition.
