Foreman + vsphere 5?

Hi All,
finally I managed to add the feature to foreman that makes the vmware guest
type and the NIC interface types user selectable and also successfully
creates the machine and makes it to boot.
You can either pull my changes to your stable 1.1 git repos
(https://github.com/theforeman/foreman/pull/480) or just clone my repo
(git://github.com/grimme-atix-de/foreman.git bases foreman-1.1-stable
branch).
To have it working you'll also need the fog gem from here
(git://github.com/grimme-atix-de/fog.git - branch guesttype - or pull
https://github.com/fog/fog/pull/1582).
Let me know if you have problems.

Right now I only tested it against VSphere 5.1.

Looking forward to any response.

Regards Marc.

Have you had any luck getting your code into fog or foreman? i'll probably
make a build off your updates and test it out myself next week.

thanks!

I think both foreman and fog look like it'll go into next version of
foreman (1.2).
If you want to test my code you're welcome.
Just use those to git repos:

Let me know if it works.
Thanks
Marc.

We’d rather not communicate directly with our esxi 4 hypervisors unless we
have too. Is there a tutorial or documentation on this? Thanks!

Yes, I hope so, we are just working on finishing the rails 3.2 branch, and
hopefully it would be merged afterwards…
