-Hardware Models- Can't I just use $productname from facter?

Isn't that a better way to go? Or do I need to manually put in the
models?

Thanks,

The values from facter aren't available until after the machine has
completed a puppet run, which doesn't help much when you're doing an
initial install of a new machine.

the way it currently works, is that the model name will be imported if such
data is coming from puppet (and the field is empty).

the reason for having the model name as another property, is that in some
cases (e.g. in Solaris sparc DHCP installations) the model name is required
for jumpstart, or if you want to keep some model specific comments - e.g.
must change something in the bios of that machine before installation etc).
