Hej Teja,
there is a comprehensive manual[1] that gives an overview of Foreman’s architecture and features. There is also a Quickstart[2] section to help get started setting up an installation.
To setup a test or even development environment there is also “Forklift” [3], which is based on Vagrant and can provision Foreman and Katello in a number of configurations.
If you have any questions or stumble upon roadblocks there is IRC (as well as Matrix) channel where you can find help from other users and developers[4].
