Hostname shorting on submit

Hi all
Have a foreman install (1.10) and have a UI issue. By default clients are
autoregistered with name.subdomain.domain.tld. When going to edit a host
however (e.g. add a puppet class) foreman shortens the name to just name.
I'm thinking config setting but not been able to work out what is going
on/which one to change. Anyone hit this before?

Do you just mean the name in the Primary edit tab? That would be normal -
the full FQDN is constructed from the shortname in the Primary tab and the
Domain of the Primary NIC in the Interfaces tab. Crucially, the text
above the tabs should still read the full fqdn if all is working
correctly eg:

If that's not the issue, can you provide more detail?
