How do I tell foreman to manage puppetca via a smart proxy?

I have a smart proxy configured to manage puppetca, but foreman keeps
trying to manipulate files directly on the same host (I'm getting
permission denied errors on /etc/puppet/autosign.conf). I don't see
any setting in foreman to point it to a proxy to manage puppetca.

when you edit a host (or a hostgroup) you should be able to see a drop
down allowing you to select your puppetmaster.

this is useful if you have multiple puppetmasters (e.g. qa goes to
another master etc).
you can set it as default as part of the hostgroup values.

if you see a text field instead of a selectbox, there is a way to toggle
(small icon next to it) between running with and without a proxy.

Ok. I had to click the icon to get the dropdown, and my proxy was in the
list.

Thanks
