Hello All,
I'm brand new to puppet and Foreman, so I apologize if this is a silly
question, but I am having a hard time importing a custom Puppet module into
Foreman.
I want to write a very simple Puppet class to ensure that a package
(check-mk-agent) is installed on all my production servers. What I am not
too clear on is where I should create this module on the server so that I
can import it into foreman (Under Configure > Puppet Classes >Import
from… ). I've tried putting it in various folders in /etc/puppet,
however I am not sure if it's not being detected because there is a problem
with the puppet module, or I have it in the wrong folder. It would be nice
to know definitively where the module should go to be picked up by Foreman.
Can someone point me in the right direction? My Foreman version is 1.5.3
Thank you!
Danny
Hi,
if you did a basic foreman-install, the location
is /etc/puppet/environments/production/modules/
foreman uses environments… by default the "production" environment is
used.
Your Foreman is rather old. A few days ago 1.7 came out. I would suggest to
use at least 1.6.3 if you just start out…
Regards
Jochen
