At the OpenStack Summit in Vancouver this week, Intel is organizing a
competition where contestants are tasked to install OpenStack on a
cluster of six "bare-metal" servers as quickly as possible.
Rules & information about the setup can be found here:
This looked like a fun idea to me, so I signed up. My slot is tomorrow
(Thu 21 May) at 12:30 PDT, i.e. lunchtime. I'll try to use the same
Foreman/Puppet/Ubuntu-based setup that we use in production at work.
If anyone is at the summit and wants to help, you're welcome!
It's at the Intel "lounge" on level 2, near the back where you can watch
the seaplanes.
So far the leading entry seems to be a team form Mirantis, who used
Mirantis Fuel for deployment. I saw two other teams use Ubuntu
Juju/MaaS. Not sure whether anyone else tried/s using Foreman.
