We are trying to choose a configuration+deployment and we are trying to
choose between katello or ansible tower.
Both has pros and cons; ansible is bash easy vs puppet or salt or chef,
katello has a great ecosystem and integration with providers.
Someone can tell about this?
I looked into this a while ago and one of the founders of Ansible had a
personal grievance with some of the Foreman team for what I can only assume
was the way how Satellite 5 (built on top of a tool called cobbler) was
replaced by Satellite 6 (obviously built on top of Foreman) so not a lot
had happened (http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.sysutils.ansible/2651)
there was some basic but useful stuff done around Foreman providing ENC
functionality to Ansible but nothing in depth (
Redirecting to Google Groups).
But with RedHat buying Ansible now and Puppet announcing their Application
Orchestrator which to me looks like a defensive play against Ansible. I'd
fall of my chair if there wasn't some sort of Foreman/Ansible integration
planned at some point, although it would compete with market Ansible Tower
currently occupies.
Interesting times!

Thanks for the reply. I hope it won't take long until we can see Andible as
a configuration provider.

Interesting times indeed! It's good be part of it. On of the best things we can do right now is to you
guys to see, what would be the best use of the technologies merging/integration: ideally in
the second thread about Foreman & Ansible
