[katello 2.1] subscription manager for OEL

I need some help understanding the configuring / syncing my local repo for
OEL.

Basically I have created a product with a couple of repo within it, in this
case the product is for "OEL Base" which contains a repo for the OEL6 base
and another for the UEK 6 base. These sync from the public repo fine, but
download all the rpm as well as the srpm, when I don't really want the
srpm. If I understand correctly you normally select what you want to
download using a subscription manager and I see in the documentation the
url for the Centos one, but don't see one anywhere for OEL (not supported).
Is it possible to adapt the one for Centos - or is this hard coded when
installed to only work with the Centos upstream mirrors ? Oviously I can
download everything and leave (use space) or download and delete (tiresome)

  • any help appreciated.

The follow up question is around registering the client servers. From what
I have read this needs a content host which is registered using the
subscription manager, which takes me back to the above question of how to
do this if there is no subscription manager for OEL ?

I don't know anything about OEL specifically, but you can get packages
from here - http://copr-fe.cloud.fedoraproject.org/coprs/dgoodwin/subscription-manager/

Maybe it will just work?

Otherwise if you publish the repos just by HTTP you can just manually
setup the yum repo files.
