[Katello 2.1] Use of Organizations with products, repos and content views

I am wondering how to manage downloaded repos if you want to use multiple
organizations, and wonder how other people are setting things up - all
under one organization ?

When I first created the products and associated repos I just used the
default Organization, then thought I would create a new organisation which
would have the content views. When creating the content views in the new
org I then found you could not see the repo I had created in the default
organization. From other posts I gather you can create a duplicate repo in
each organization and it creates links rather then downloads the rpm again,
but I an guessing this just makes the mongodb larger to reference the
links. I would have thought you could point to repo in a "common"
organization ?

The same goes wiith a host. When I create a new organization I can add a
hosts to it, but I now cannot find a way to move the host back to an
existing organization. Should a hosts be visible in only one organization ?

Generally - do people tend to use a single organization for everything ?

Hi Mark,

Did you find a way to do this? I think the same way you do. It would be
nice to have just one producto and been able to use it through several
organizations.
I did the same as you, worked in the default orgainzation at the beginning
and now that I'm getting to understand how to use Katello, I find that I
can't move or share the products across the new organizations.
Regards,

There isn't currently a way to share products across organizations, but you
are correct that the physical content won't be re-downloaded per
organization. This is both part of our prior requirements about
multi-tenancy but have started to hear more and more the desire to be able
to share some entities across. There is also currently a technical
limitation with the way we integrate with Candlepin that is being
redesigned in Candlepin 2.0. TLDR - we will be looking into supporting this
in the near future.

Thanks for your answer. I look forward to see this feature to avoid work
