I´m running into an strange issue. I´ve registered few hosts against foreman and puppet and am not trying to delete some of them, as the names of the servers have changed. Each time I´m trying to delete a host I receive the following error.
Could not deactivate host on PuppetDB: getaddrinfo: Name or service not known
I´ve search the net for some answers and found out that I´ve to disable the foreman_plugin_puppetdb. I´ve disabled this plugin and even uninstalled the rpm but get the same error each time I´m trying to delete a host.
Can you clarify registration? Did you use puppet or subscription-manager?

I´ve found the issue. Kafo installer was not able to turn of the plugin properly, even though it showed the plugin to be turned off. After a run with ‘katello-installer --no-enable-foreman-plugin-puppetdb‘ I´m able to delete hosts and register under the new hostname.
