Hi,
I'm trying to install Katello 3.0 RC on RHEL7 x86_64. I'm following the
instructions on the site, and haven't passed any advanced to
foreman-installer. The hostname, dns and ip all resolve correctly.

I've tried resetting and removing packages, but it doesn't help.
I just released RC5 a few hours ago to our repositories. Could you re-test
using the most up to date packages and let us know if you are still seeing
this issue?

I’ve tried resetting and removing packages, but it doesn’t help.
No that didn't solve it. I'm still seing the same issue. I was able to
install 2.4 on this system. However, even 2.4 has some issues. I had to
pull in the fix for Bug #13598: katello-installer fails running foreman-rake db:seed - Katello - Foreman
in order to get 2.4 to work. I also had to disable selinux. Apart from
katello-remove, are there any additional steps needed to reset to a clean
slate ?

The output seems to indicate more repositories than we expect to be enabled
which could be leading the problem. Could you try an installation with only
those specified at [1] and tell us if you hit the issue? We do not run
tests on RHEL directly so it is possible there is a dependency that has
moved or an issue with an RPM from another repository that leads to the
issue.

I am able to install it successfully on a clean aws instance with rhel.
However, it still fails on the machine I am trying it on. I compared all
the packages from katello/foreman/pulp repos on both the systems and they
match. Specifically, the output of "repoquery --installed -a --qf
'%{ui_nevra} %{ui_from_repo}' | grep "@foreman|@katello|@puppet|@rhscl""
matches. The only additional rhel channels that I have enabled on the
system are the supplementary and fastrack channels, but they don't have any
installed packages. i.e. Disabling them won't matter, and I don't think
this error is related to package differences.
The main differences between this system and a clean aws instance would be
that this system is also a freeipa-client and the /home is nfs mounted. I
doubt if that's relevant though.
