Just out of curiosity, why don't you branch as the same time as foreman
does? if you do that, it would be much easier to align the release dates?

That is always our goal, but making it a reality is not always straight
forward. That is to say, we are not always ready to go when branching
occurs.

thanks Eric. what I don't understand is that the branching dates are known
more or less months in advance, does pushing a few extra "features" after
foreman branch helps in anyway to katello? to me it sounds like it just
decrease the ability for people to test it, especially when there is still
time to fix things prior to foreman releasing.

Since we are doing time based releases, I find it hard to understand why
not branch and stabilize the branch?
