Katello 4.4 / Foreman 3.2 Content View UI issue

Problem:
I am not sure if this is just for me, but when I click on a content view it will default to the “versions” tab. Since upgrading to F3.2/K4.4 clicking on any other tab does nothing. I have to right-click → open in new tab to actually modify repositories or filters.

Expected outcome:
Clicking on any tab in an open content view should navigate to that page.

Foreman and Proxy versions:
F 3.2
K 4.4

Foreman and Proxy plugin versions:

Distribution and version:
CentOS 7.9

Other relevant data:
I tried with Safari and Firefox ESR, both show the same behavior.

Hi,

While navigating the tabs, could you open the console (press Ctrl + Shift + I)? Then paste any errors or take a screenshot.

Until we can reproduce, have your tried using Google Chrome?

This is likely a browser specific issue.

A mismatch between versions of foreman and this change introduced in Katello could cause the issue described, you are correct in identifying it @rbremer.

The puzzling thing is that foreman 3.2 should have the latest patternfly change as far as I was aware.
I’m investigating foreman 3.2 now. We may want to revert this change in Katello 4.4, and slate it for 4.5 if the patternfly update wasn’t yet applied in foreman 3.2.

@rbremer Confirmed this is a version mismatch issue, the change ( #34559 ) in Katello should have been slated for 4.5.

We will be releasing 4.4.0.1 shortly to revert the changes that cause this issue, and will apply the fix in 4.5, when Foreman is running the updated version of Patternfly.

I would like to know when will be released 4.4.0.1, and, in short, could be a good idea to return to Katello 4.3?

Falling back to 4.3 in the meantime may be an option for you, as that change was introduced in 4.4.

As for the ETA on 4.4.0.1, we are waiting to get one more fix in prior to release.

For now all I can say is soon™.

I think that is too much of a hassle, you loose out on a lot of important fixes. You can circumvent the issue in K4.4 by right-clicking on the tab you wanna see and choose “open in new tab”.
