[katello] client tool requirements?

Hey guys,

Been reading the docs but can't seem to find my answer.
Does katello require anything special on the client other than
subscription-manager (are there post install steps included in a
provisioning template?) and does that manager also handle package updates
or are manual yum update required etc.

Thanks!

Andrew,

There is a client side Katello-agent. Without it you won’t be able to remotely/centrally patch servers from Katello.

That makes sense, does katello-agent replace the older subscription-manager
I was reading about last year?

Thanks.

Hi Andrew,

No, AFAIK you need both, they kind of perform slightly different functions.
