Katello installation fails on "/usr/sbin/foreman-rake db:migrate"

Hi all,

I'm trying to install a katello platform according to
http://www.katello.org/docs/2.2/installation/index.html on a VM with
RHEL6.6.
Versions are Katello 2.2.1, foreman 1.8.2
I use a proxy (defined in http_proxy & https_proxy) with a variable
no_proxy="localhost, <MyFQDN>"

When I run katello-installer with no option, it fails with

/Stage[main]/Foreman::Database/Foreman::Rake[db:migrate]/Exec[foreman-rake-db:migrate]:
Failed to call refresh: /usr/sbin/foreman-rake db:migrate returned 1
instead of one of
[0]/Stage[main]/Foreman::Database/Foreman::Rake[db:migrate]/Exec[foreman-rake-db:migrate]:

/usr/sbin/foreman-rake apipie:cache returned 1 instead of one of [0]…

If I try to run commands manually

[root@rtestkat01 ~]# /usr/sbin/foreman-rake db:migraterake aborted!Gem
loading error: Could not find uuidtools (>= 0) amongst [actionmailer-3.2.8,
actionpack-3.2.8, activemodel-3.2.8, …

Do you have any idea on what kind of error I may have done ?

Best regards
Yannig

Not really sure why, but on today it seems to function properly.
That was probably thanks to an updated repository…

Hi all,

So I managed to install katello / foreman / puppet but there are still some
issues.
The most annoying one is Puppet agent fails locally. When launching command
"puppet agent -t", I just get an error 500. When I look in the different
http error logs, I get :
error_log:
Could not spawn process for group /etc/puppet/rack#default: An error
occured while starting up the preloader.

puppet_error_ssl.log
Connection reset by peer: ap_content_length_filter: apr_bucket_read()
failed

puppet_access_ssl.log

  • "GET
    /production/node/rtestkat01.cgdm.group?transaction_uuid=05af888b-7425-4995-ab5f-26e50f27d36d&fail_on_404=true
    HTTP/1.1" 500 32812 "-" "-"*

Does anybody know what could be this issue ?

Regards

Hi,

FYI, this error about error 500 is now corrected.
It was due to external facts usage. We have scripts by default within
/etc/facter/facts.d for specific inventory, but those scripts were
conflicting with the katello installation.
A simple deletion of all script within /etc/facter/facts.d did solve the
error 500 issue.

Yannig
