Many thanks!
I decided to change the URL to “/9.5/” and the sync ran through.
Maybe the symlinks on the repo server are messed up?
Will try going back to “/9/” in a few weeks.
I don’t think so. If I go to the index page I can see the correct file size. But when I download the file, it’s smaller. That’s what makes me think it’s a cache issue. Until the official release of 9.5 the link pointed to the 9.4 file which is smaller. Now it still serves the old one. It’s also correct on mirrors like this
I have explicitly informed the Alma Linux infra team about the issue:
Interesting. Do you still have problems? For us, a few hours after my last post it started to provide the correct files, e.g. pxeboot/initrd.img with 148935912 bytes and sha256 730cb204bfd8668e7e3bd2e88ed1d443084d467db6d1228b63f8f27117e52e3a.
That’s the only problem we have noticed (of course, because the pulp sync stop at the first error).
I have checked all IPs we get for repo.almalinux.org
repo.almalinux.org has address 151.101.3.52
repo.almalinux.org has address 151.101.67.52
repo.almalinux.org has address 151.101.131.52
repo.almalinux.org has address 151.101.195.52
repo.almalinux.org has IPv6 address 2a04:4e42:600::820
repo.almalinux.org has IPv6 address 2a04:4e42::820
repo.almalinux.org has IPv6 address 2a04:4e42:400::820
repo.almalinux.org has IPv6 address 2a04:4e42:200::820
and at least for those I always get the correct initrd.img now.
The last few days there were no errors syncing to the /9/ urls, anymore.
The Alma Linux team has confirmed that it was a caching issue, and it was fixed by them.
I don’t see the problem anymore.
