Organization and Environment-specific OS mediums

Hey there,

Trying to find out if anyone else would find organization and
environment-specific OS mediums useful? The way it would work is that once
a host is associated with an environment, only a subset of OS with mediums
will be available (and thus installable) to this host.

Thoughts?

I think it makes sense to have OS media location specific and location
is essentially a sub-organization. So maybe useful?

I mean, you want different URL for Brno location and for London
location…

IMHO… if you want to do a robust workflow where you test out your SOE,
and then promote it through envrionments then we need the media and
hostgroup definitions to eventually have some notion of environmnet. If
I want to test a new kernel, I want to build it with that kernel from
scratch.

Obviously, the best solution makes this optional… so that simple setups
do not require it.

OS Mediums are already organization- and location-aware. So, please
disregard the bit about organizations in this proposal - and only consider
making of mediums environment-aware.
