This section currently lists specific individuals as contact points for reporting behaviour issues. However, those names are no longer actively involved in the Foreman community, which makes the section outdated and potentially confusing for contributors.
I think this is a good opportunity for us to decide, as a community:
Should this section be removed or updated?
If updated, what are the names we have in our mind?
If removed, How should behaviour concerns be raised going forward in a way that reflects the current community structure?
While I am not sure how many issues of this kind we had to solve in the past, I would expect it was quite low and I like to keep the option as it sets a sign.
I have no specific person in my mind, in the past it were the community managers but as we have no dedicated community manager any longer the role could go to every trusted member who volunteers to take this responsibility.
Having one male and one female is always good for gender-specific issues, but opens the question if also a non-binary person is required. We could also think about other attributes which could make community member prefer to speak to the other one, not sure if this could be a thing but for example a Red Hatter and someone not involved with Red Hat or an American and one Non-American.
I appreciate the effort to keep the section updated. I’d say it’s preferable to keep the section in place, updated with active community members’ names, rather than to remove it. Additionally, I’d like to volunteer to be listed as a point of contact.
Let’s see if someone volunteers. I’d be OK having my name there, though I’m sure we have many better folks in the community who earned the trust over the years and could help resolving conflicts.
Good idea, let’s see who is interested. I’m slightly concerned we’ll be limited by that pool.
I would also volunteer. My biggest concern is my limited time as my manager position requires already a big amount, so I would also be happy if someone else is stepping up, but also always happy if I can help the project.
How many reports and violations have we really received in all those years? My feeling (and please correct me if I’m wrong) is that luckily we have a friendly community.
I think it’s good to have it up to date. If there no reports then it’s just it’s a low time/effort commitment for the person(s). Since we’re all busy people, that’s good.
