Roadmap meeting 2

Hello guys,

I was browing a bit the wiki when I found the roadmap meeting report:
http://theforeman.org/projects/foreman/wiki/Roadmap_meeting

The date ? 5 december, already one year !
If you look to roadmap, a lot of work has been accomplished in one year.

@coreteam : I think with 1.1 almost out, it would make sense to organize a
new one ?
Any thoughts ?

Regards,

Romain

Yes, but maybe lets get 1.1 out, so people can see the new awesome
features, and then we'll have the next meetup?

Hi all. I hope everyone had a happy holiday season!!

Now that we are in a new year, and drawing very close to a 1.1 release
(rc4?), I think it might be time to schedule another roadmap meeting. (I'm
thinking it should be safe to go ahead and schedule the meeting a couple
weeks out?)

I went ahead and moved the notes from our first and only roadmap meeting to
here:
Roadmap meeting Dec 05 2011 - Foreman(from
Roadmap meeting - Foreman) I made the old
URL an anchor we can reuse that will link to individual roadmap meeting
pages.

I've copied the agenda and notes from the Dec 2011 meeting to here:
Roadmap meeting May 2013 - Foreman and
took a first stab at breaking it down into "Done/In progress" and
"Outstanding" sections, and adding a section for the agenda for new items,
which I stealthily populated with my wishlist…)

I propose that folks add potential roadmap items and identify who added
them, so that when we meet, that person can explain what they had in mind.
(IRC handles will probably be best.)

Hard to believe how much the project has changed in the past year!! (We had
just released 0.4 less than one month before our last meeting!)
ReleaseNotes - Foreman (Looking
at release after release it is incredible how much the pace of development
is accelerating, with each release getting more and more changes than prior
releases.)

Brian

Great to see that coming up again.
+1 Brian for the wiki changes.

I'll have to pick some of my wishes up from bugtracker to the wiki.
Could we try to find a date for that, or do we wait for the official
release of 1.1 ?

I made the old URL an anchor we can reuse that will link
            to individual roadmap meeting pages.

I've copied the agenda and notes from the Dec 2011
            meeting to
            here: http://theforeman.org/__projects/foreman/wiki/Roadmap___meeting_Jan_2011
            <http://theforeman.org/projects/foreman/wiki/Roadmap_meeting_Jan_2011>
and took a first stab at breaking it down into "Done/In
progress" and "Outstanding" sections, and adding a
section for the agenda for new items, which
I stealthily populated with my wishlist..) ;)

I propose that folks add potential roadmap items and
identify who added them, so that when we meet, that
person can explain what they had in mind. (IRC handles
            will probably be best.)

Hard to believe how much the project has changed in the
past year!! (We had just released 0.4 less than one
            month before our last meeting!)
             http://theforeman.org/__projects/foreman/wiki/__ReleaseNotes
            <http://theforeman.org/projects/foreman/wiki/ReleaseNotes>
(Looking at release after release it is incredible how
much the pace of development is accelerating, with each
release getting more and more changes than prior releases.)

            Cheers,
            Brian

I was browing a bit the wiki when I found the roadmap meeting
report:

http://theforeman.org/**projects/foreman/wiki/Roadmap_**meetinghttp://theforeman.org/projects/foreman/wiki/Roadmap_meeting

The date ? 5 december, already one year !
If you look to roadmap, a lot of work has been accomplished in
one year.

@coreteam : I think with 1.1 almost out, it would make sense to
organize a new one ?

Any thoughts ?

Yes, but maybe lets get 1.1 out, so people can see the new
awesome features, and then we’ll have the next meetup?

+1

Regards,

Romain

P.S. - Can we decide via Doodle?

My apologies, it's been on my todo list, but I've been crazy busy prepping
for four User group events that I'm organizing/hosting this week and next.

Mar 12 http://www.meetup.com/nylug-meetings/events/103619352/
Mar 14 http://www.meetup.com/nylug-meetings/events/82181872/
Mar 20 http://www.meetup.com/nylug-meetings/events/102722692/
Mar 21 http://www.meetup.com/puppetnyc-meetings/events/106407812/

In addition I am trying to prep for a trip to Boston/Cambridge on the
weekend of Mar 23rd for LibrePlanet.

Here is the poll. http://doodle.com/44rg745ncrfyzge8

Thanks,
Brian

Only two people have responded. Can more people please let us know
when they are available for a roadmap meeting?

(sorry for not following up sooner.)

Thanks,
Brian
