Rocky linux 9.6 + pxe boot

Problem:
when trying to install over pxe boot a rocky linux 9.6 i get::
Kernel panic - not syncing: UFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknowm-block(9,0)

Expected outcome:
smooth installation
Foreman and Proxy versions:
foreman 3.15 (but also fails on 3.14)
Foreman and Proxy plugin versions:

Distribution and version:
rocky linux 9.6

Other relevant data:
this did not happen for installations of rocky linux 9.5 and ubuntu

it turned out that there are some faulty rocky mirrors… My solution was to chose another rocky mirror. These seem to be faulty:
https://dl.rockylinux.org
https://download.rockylinux.org
This one worked:
https://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de
But maybe - if you run into the same problem - you’ll find another one closer to your location.
