Setting up Foreman MS DNS Smart Proxy

I'm trying to set up a Foreman Smart Proxy for MS DNS. I can't get the
Proxy service to start it times out. I've installed this on Windows 2008
R2 with latest smart proxy download from git. Has anyone been able to set
this up so the dnscmd creates\deletes DNS records?

How are you starting the service? Did you do that add service and run it
from services.msc? That is currently broken,

You can run the smart-proxy from a powershell/cmd windows.
cd P:\ath\to\smart-proxy-1.7-stable
smart-proxy-1.7-stable> ruby .\bin\smart-proxy

It looks like the refactoring in the proxy (around version 1.6) broke
windows support, in the meanwhile, you might be better of installing an
older version of the proxy instead, as I dont think that the dhcp feature
changed that much since.
