Smart-proxy usage

I keep seeing deprecation warnings such as the following in my foreman
production log files,

DEPRECATION WARNING* Managing Puppet without a smart-proxy will
not be supported in the next release

The host that is being managed in this case is indeed using a smart-
proxy to manage puppet/puppetca. I have configured my smart-proxy
according to the howto on the foreman site - I am able to add and
destroy nodes when using this proxy. Can anyone think of why I would
be seeing this warning?

proxy, when editing a host, next to the puppetmaster field, there is a small
icon, if you have any puppet proxies, it should allow you to manage that
host via the proxy.

additionally, if you are using a recent version of foreman/proxy, under the
proxy list, you should now be able to manage your certificates (view, sign,
revoke etc).

Yes, I do have the proxy configured – the host is currently using
that proxy for puppetmaster. Based on the /tmp/proxy.log, it looks
like it is able to remove certificates when I destroy the host. Even
if I recreate the host and use the proxy puppetmaster, I still see the
deprecation warnings.

I guess that this is the tftp part being executed by default… I assume you
are not using it for provisioning.

it means you are not using the proxy… as far as it goes to the puppet

proxy, when editing a host, next to the puppetmaster field, there is a
small
icon, if you have any puppet proxies, it should allow you to manage that
host via the proxy.
