I have recently cloned a Foreman Server from one network/infrastructure stack to another. The gist of these two environments is that one is that the “new” network is capable of provisioning systems where the “old” one isn’t, for reasons I won’t get into. So the new environment is like a build network and any hosts built on it, can be physically connected to the “old” network and be reconnected to its Foreman/Puppet server.
Is there a way I can use the installer answer files to modify the foreman/puppet/smartproxy details on the “new” server to fit that network but keep some details in tact like the PuppetCA certs?
Maybe this won’t work like I think it will at all, but I was sort of hoping…
