Just setup Foreman 2.0 with Katello 3.15.1 and seen version 2.0.1 and 3.15.2 just arrived. Upgrading to these minor versions, do I have to follow the same upgrade procedures stated here for both the Foreman/Katello server and smart proxy including regenerating the certs for the smart proxys?
Hello and welcome. Yes, installer must be executed in order to perform database migration.
OK but what about the regeneration of the certificates for the smart proxys? Is this really needed when I upgrade from 3.16.0 to 1.16.1? I am going to deploy 10+ proxys so would be nice to not have to do that part but instead just run “foreman-installer” also on the proxies.
I mean just performing an upgrade does not spit out new certificates on foreman/katello server right?
Why is it even needed when upgrading from 3.16 to 3.17?
No, the certs don’t need to be updated for z-stream updates.
Technically probably also not needed for y-streams, but we’ve kept that step for now in the docs.
