Hello,
this might not be very enterprise grade usage of foreman, but consider
this requirement:
Foreman 1.10.1, Katello 2.4
On some occasions my customers send me some piece of hardware which has
to be installed and some VMs deployed on it. Of course I use Foreman to
install the VMs after I added the physical system as compute resource
(KVM via ssh+qemu). After the system is set up and sent remote, I end up
with fragments (compute resource and VMs) from this installation in my
Foreman instance:
The VMs cant be deleted as the compute resource is not available. The
compute resource can't be deleted as there are VMs associated to it.
Even if the Foreman instance still had connection to the customers
system, I'd like to disassociate the VMs and the compute resource to
prevent accidents.
Is this a viable request? Is there a way to archive this already?
Thanks
Andreas
Never mind: This already is possible: Select the Hosts in "Hosts" and
disassociate them. Afterwards the systems can be deleted, the compute
resource, too. Maybe add a button in the compute resource screen, too.
Regards
Andreas

Raised Feature #13824: Allow disassociation of VMs via Compute-Resource-Screen - Foreman as RFE.
