Adding EC2 instances to DNS

Does Foreman normally add newly created instances to DNS? When I create VPC instances I am not even seeing an attempt by the DNS smart proxy to register the new host.

I am using Foreman 1.1 with this patch http://pastie.org/5078094 to create VPC instances. I'm not sure if I'm seeing a bug that was caused by the patch or the normal behavior.

Will

I had missed the step of associating the domain with a smart-proxy. That seemed to fix it because I stated seeing error regarding my rndc.key. I fixed the key and restarted the smart proxy and now I am back to the original state where I create hosts and it does not attempt to add them to DNS.

Yep, Jason actually traced the bug, and the details are at:
