CfgMgmtCamp 2027 - Call for Presentations

Hello folks,

the CfgMgmtCamp 2027 will be held in Feb 1st-3rd, 2027. The CfP is open only until Sep 20th, 2026.

Considering Foreman, I think there’s a lot of interesting topics since the last year. There’s generally interest in new or future features from devs as well as case studies, integrations and challenges from users. Also there’s always someone who hasn’t heard about Foreman, so intro talk would be great too.

Hope to see a lot of submissions

Some topic ideas off the top of my head:

  • General updates and strategy for Foreman 5.0 & beyond
    • There is so much change happening that I think this talk could encapsulate other, more detailed talks later.
  • Containerization
    • foremanctl and its use
    • Our new build process (namely the containers)
      • To enable contributors who want to build plugins and such
    • Managing RPM Foreman vs containerized Foreman, tips and tricks, etc.
  • PQC
    • What is PQC, why it matters to Foreman
    • What does PQC look like mechanically in Foreman
    • Changes to related projects, like Pulp and Candlepin
    • What we’ve tested so far

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to go, but I’m thinking about submitting something Katello related. Perhaps Intro to Katello (as usual) & then something more technical.

I also submitted a request for FOSDEM booth a minute ago. We’ll hear back in November.

I’m thinking of taking this, but split it into 2:

  • General room opening as we always do: welcome everyone and summarize changes from the past year
  • Looking at the future. There I’d like to lay out my plans for the future (hint: containers will be mentioned a lot)
