Custom hostname suggestion

Hello,

We, as many other shops, have a server naming standard including a
numbering scheme. Is there any somewhat simple way to get Foreman to call
an external script on host creation to retrieve the next available server
name and populate the hostname field in the 'new host' form with this?

As a quick, but not-so-easy solution, I can suggest you to monkey-patch our
name generator:

class NameGenerator
  GENERATOR_TYPES = {

    'Random-based' => _('Random-based'),
    'MAC-based' => _('MAC-based')
  }.freeze

  def self.random_based?
    Setting[:name_generator_type] =~ /^Random/i
  end
  delegate :random_based?, :to => :class

  def self.mac_based?
    Setting[:name_generator_type] =~ /^MAC/i
  end
  delegate :mac_based?, :to => :class

  def initialize
    @mac_generator = Deacon::MacGenerator.new
    @random_generator = Deacon::RandomGenerator.new
