Deleting trend counters

Is there a command line method or script method of doing this? I just
attempted to delete one from the web front end and it is taking FOREVER.
Ten minutes later and it still has not responded…

in the last sprint demo[1], we've shown an improvement to how trends data
is stored, which includes a huge speed improvements as well.

this will land in 1.9, but if you use trends, and willing to experiment,
there is a good chance this[2] would work on 1.7 and 1.8 as well.

Found a way to kill off the counters using SQL. Sledge hammer approach but
it worked.

Speaking of Katello… what does it buy me. The Web site is not very
clear…
