Discovery Smart Proxy

Hi,

What is the current method for setting up a Discovery Smart Proxy?

I am using Foreman 1.7.2 with Smart Proxies scattered around the globe for
TFTP, Puppet, Puppet CA. Though I am feeling the need for dedicated
Discovery Proxies.

So, I just installed a 1.7.3 Smart Proxy on a new CentOS 6.6 build, but it
appears the rubygem-smart_proxy_discovery package is unavailable (the one
on the docs)

http://theforeman.org/plugins/foreman_discovery/2.0/

My objective is to provision selected hosts (on a per VLAN basis) using the
PXE/Discovery image. Other hosts can be installed using existing
register/PXE method.

I'd like to have my existing Non-Discovery Proxies (TFTP, Puppet, Puppet
CA) co-exist with Discovery Proxies.

1.When is the Smart Proxy discovery package going to be available and what
is the current work around?

2.Can non-discovery proxies co-exist with Discovery Proxies on a per VLAN
basis? Or have I missed the point?

3.Is there a bootable Discovery ISO (like Foreman boot disk but not
dependant on registration)?

Thanks a lot!

We haven't included it in the composes for 1.7 proxy. We will fix that.

In the meantime, you can use this build (the same one as for 1.8 repo):

Sure, make sure all other features are disabled and you should be good
to go.

Good point, it's something I will be prototyping in the upcoming weeks.
Ping me to see if I have a working build. POC only tho for now. What is
your use case please? Can you elaborate on that bootable ISO?
