Empty identifier value for primary network interface

Im still on Foreman 1.7.2 and for some reason one of my hosts has no value
for its primary network interface identifier:

foreman_interfaces:

  • mac: 00:a0:d1:ee:f9:8d
    ip: 192.168.0.104
    type: Interface
    name:
    attrs: {}
    virtual: false
    link: true
    identifier:
    managed: true
    subnet:
    network: 192.168.0.0
    mask: 255.255.255.0
    name: lan
    gateway: 192.168.0.1
    dns_primary: 192.168.0.1
    dns_secondary: ''
    from: ''
    to: ''
    boot_mode: DHCP
    ipam: DHCP
  • mac: 00:a0:d1:ee:f9:8c
    ip:
    type: Interface
    name: ''
    attrs: {}
    virtual: false
    link: true
    identifier: em1
    managed: false
    subnet:

Now I am not even sure how that value is filled to be honest. Its not
like secondary interfaces where you can manually enter the value. I
havent seen the issue on other hosts. Its very important that this
value is correct though as I my network interfaces are renamed based
on this in /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules. It having an
empty value for the name stops my system from being network accessible
after a reboot. Thoughts?

Hello,

we update interfaces based on incoming facts. If you don't run Foreman in
unattended mode or the host is unmanaged, you can't edit interfaces (fixed in
1.8). Does that host have 2 interfaces and are MAC addresses correct? If not,
could you upload output of facter for that host? To workaround wrong values
you can make the host managed, fix the values and make it unmanaged again.

Hope this helps

Yes, all of my hosts have multiple interfaces and they are all managed.
