Facts stored by discovery image

My discovered hosts do not have any meta-data stored against them for facts that facter knows as:

dmi=>board=>product

which translate to Dell service tags (and presumably something similar for other manufacturers).

Is there anyway to configure the discovery image to store these facts?

You probably need to use the legacy facts. That’s productname or boardproductname I think.

Is there any reason why the facts reported by the discovery image don’t include those under dmi?

Those are modern facts provided by facter 3 but our discovery image still contains facter 2.
