Foreman 1.8 with Puppet Enterprise 3

So I'm looking for info on this, but most of the content that talks about
it is quite dated.

I have assets in 3 separate environments, and I would like to use Foreman
to bring them all under a single management interface.

My plan is to put puppetmasters in each environment and use Foreman for
reports and node classification.

Looking at the info I need to tweak a few files and make sure the
puppetmasters certs are installed on the foreman server.

Is that all?

Also would it be easier to use the Open source version for the
puppetmasters and just use the PE stuff for the clients. I have a system
like that running right now Foreman/OpenSource Puppetmaster serving PE 3.6
clients. It took a bit of work to get the packages and get them installed
in the correct order, but it works.

Yes,
http://www.theforeman.org/manuals/1.8/index.html#3.1.2PuppetCompatibility
Mostly the issue is one of packaging & configuration in the master,
having PE clients should work just fine.

Excellent! I think I'll go with the foreman installer for the ca,
puppetmaster and any slave puppetmasters, using my PE licenses for clients.

Thanks!
