Foreman 3.13 release candidate feedback

Now that Foreman 3.13 has a release candidate, this is the place to provide your feedback. Whether it’s (possible) bugs, thoughts, the interface, or workflow. If you’re sure it’s a bug, a new Redmine issue can also be used.

As it seems that the packages for RC2 for both Foreman and Katello are fully published now,
I ran through the whole process of leapp upgrade from Rocky 8 to 9, and then upgrading to 3.13.

The leapp upgrade worked pretty flawlessly! (while making sure dnf autoremove has been run, and manual cleanup afterwards)

And then after upgrade:

  • Took another look at the Multi-CV stuff, the reported issues from last time are all fixed, and altering activation keys also works pretty well now  (also the UI works, of course not everywhere complete yet, but future!)
  • Also took the structured APT part on a ride, it generally works, only the repository sets view on the host details page has an issue: if set to Limit to environment, an error shows up, if switched to show all it works normally:

Finally overall looks to be pretty stable, did not see any further special issues (as far I’ve seen, there were a lot of changes on the base)

Any other things I can test for you?

Thanks for the testing @lumarel !

One thing we made big changes to was the smart proxy synced content counting logic. Now you’re able to calculate counts per lifecycle environment, which makes the feature more usable for people with large smart proxies. If you use smart proxies with content, I’d be curious how that’s looking. However I get that many folks don’t need them

@quba42 have you seen the structure APT issue mentioned above?

I unfortunately don’t have any Smart Proxies yet (my homelab is already big but not that huge, lol), but I can still install one and check!
