Foreman 3.19.0 is now available

Foreman 3.19 is the first release to ship Foreman and Katello as a containerized setup, deployable using foremanctl. Traditional foreman-installer-based installations remain fully supported.

Important: There is currently no migration path from existing foreman-installer-based deployments to the containerized foremanctl-based setup. If you want to try the containerized deployment, it must be a fresh installation on a dedicated system.

The containerized deployment currently supports Enterprise Linux 9 (x86_64) only. Container images are published at quay.io/foreman/foreman. For details, see the containerized installation guide.

Other highlights in this release include:

  • Standardized recurring tasks via systemd timers replacing ad-hoc cron jobs (note: existing cron schedules are not preserved during upgrade)
  • Agama installer support for SLES16 provisioning
  • All Hosts page improvements for easier host collection and system purpose management
  • UI modernization with Models page migrated to React and continued PatternFly 5 updates
