Foreman Community Demo #95

Every few weeks we host a Community Demo to showcase new & interesting developments from the Foreman community. We encourage participation from any member of the community (although you do need a Google account), so if you’ve been working on something cool, please do come show it off.

This post is a wiki, so if you have something to show, add yourself to this table!

2021 Format Change

We want to pilot a change to the format of the community demo. In the same event, we’d like to split the demos into two categories. We’d like to trial grouping demos that are of interest to Foreman users together, followed-by demos that are of interest to Foreman developers. Depending on which is best, I will either split the recording or add chapters etc, whichever makes most sense.

If you have any feedback about the change to the format, feel free to comment here

Depending on where it would be a better fit, please add yourself to one of the following tables:

Foreman user-focused demos

This makes a lot of sense. I’ve always wondered (despite doing nothing myself) about the lack of HOWTO demos available for Foreman/Katello users.

Perhaps even a separate YouTube channel? Or tagging them as user-focused in some way?

Hey @Duncan_Innes

I am trying to rope people into doing more deep dives this year!
Our demos are such a frequent event that perhaps they eclipse what else is on the channel. Hopefully if the frequency of deep dives increases, we can consolidate our YouTube channel into a centralised place for more regular Foreman updates.
Is there anything in particular that you can think of that you’d like a howto tutorial on? Earlier in the year, I had @lzap create a workflow around content management for Centos Stream hosts
We uploaded some videos for recent conferences around OpenSCAP, REX, and Report Templates. Recently we hosted a Introduction to Katello. I am hoping to soon host a session on host registration.

I am very interested in knowing what people would like to see, so if ever you have an idea, or you see some users struggling with something, please let us know.
