Clearly understood the reporting and Configuration.
But not clear on provisioning and I need help or link to documentation.
What I did is till now … I installed foreman on Oracle Virtuval machine VM
and trying to provisioning a new VM from the foreman VM using bare metal
I did all steps to create a new VM from host section as per documentation
but its showing always pending for installation since two days. and I
restarted the foreman machine also. But no luck.
Can you redirect me to right direction.
Some of other questions… If I am going to provisioning a new host/VM…
will it automatically creates new VM … how this will work… or do i need
to create a VM and give the mac address and ip details while creating.
Hi,
If you try to provision VMs on Oracle Virtual Machine, there is an
unofficial plugin [1] that adds OVM as a compute resource. Unfortunately,
it seems that it is broken at the moment. Foreman is able to create a VM in
a compute resource, but the individual compute resources slightly vary in
what they offer - some support only image-based provisioning [2]. I do not
think using 'Bare metal' option to provision a VM will work as Foreman uses
compute resources to support various VM providers.

Please do not send emails twice, I already replied you in the original one.

So I will go with VMware workstation. Can I go head and install with VMware and I very new to virtualization concepts but good at development.
Can u please suggest some references for VMware installation for foreman related software in my local window s machine please
Any links or videos will help me lot as I could not understand from docs in foreman doc clearly because I am very new
I need bit more help in understanding flow on auto provisioning and can you
please help me – here is my questions
Step 1 : I have installed workstation in my window machine and In one VM,
installing the centos and foreman on top of it.
Step 2 : And another VM is VCENTER/ESXI server as compute resource .
Step 3 : In provisioning setup, i will give the VCENTER IP details in
foreman provisioning setup and as i dont have DNS and DCHP . I will give
the static IP
Step 4 : I will create the compute resource with V-CENTER IP and all other
details
Step 5 : Follow the steps of provisioning templates and all related stuff.
Am i in right track. Please help me… I am new to virtualization concepts
and please correct me if I wrong direction

compute host …* (BOTH IP are different foreman and compute host IP)*
