Notes from the meetup.

Creating and managing operating systems was a hot topic for this session. Here are the key points:

Registration doesn’t work well with non-RHEL systems.
This is a known limitation, where registering non-RHEL systems requires prior creation of the operating system, or for Debian / Ubuntu, installing the deb version of the subscription manager.
The improvement could be as simple as a Python script that collects the required facts and sends them to the Foreman.

Creating OS from facts - cloning from a minor version
Current problem: When a new minor version of an OS is created, it lacks many associations that older versions have, such as templates, parameters, and installation media.

We could introduce a feature that would automatically clone these associations to the new minor versions.
