Hosts With Alerts Disabled

Maybe a stupid question but what's meant by the 'Hosts With Alerts
Disabled' state?
I'have one host on the overview page mentioned here,
but I couldn't find anything on the web about this.
I looked it up in the sourcecode also :wink:

The idea is to disable alerting for a subset of systems, where you are not
interested in alerts (like a development machine or during a downtime).
